Sub-programmes are initiatives and projects designed to be individually incorporated into one of flight-aid's four major flight programmes, such as the The Flying Clinic and AirLink programmes.
flight-AIDS
Purpose: To counteract the spread of HIV/AIDS in rural Africa.
Structure: Piggy-back (add-on) programme carried out alongside flight-aid’s Flying Clinic programme.
Function: • Education • Prevention • Testing • Treatment (ARVs)
Outlook: Cure through airborne medical treatment and vaccination campaigns, as soon as an effective vaccine becomes available.
flight-AIDS fights AIDS
Little Wings flying for Africa's children
Purpose: To promote the personal and social development of children in rural Africa by efficiently bringing medical and educational support into those areas.
Structure: A flight-aid sub-programme carried out predominantly in conjunction with the Flying Clinic and AirLink programmes, by incorporating pediatricians and/or educational personnel (e.g. teachers, social workers, etc.) into these missions.
Function: • Regular pediatric treatments • Preventive measures and treatments • Vaccination campaigns • Education in healthcare and personal hygiene • Social and personal (general) education
Outlook: To establish a medical and educational flight network for children, that shall reach out to those living in many remote areas on the African continent.
